Special Things wall hanging

This wall hanging was made by children and adults in the Inglehurst Infant School Community. Each square represents something special to the person who made it.

The hanging is made up of ninety sixteen centimetre squares. Most children and adults used felt or foam to create their picture with a few people using embroidery. The work was created on dyed fabric which was then stretched over wadding and card. The squares are held together on Velcro strips.

The workshop was on the afternoon of June 20th 2011. One class of children had been making a few squares before this so the parents could see what they were being invited to do. The finished work was photographed with some of the children for the Leicester Mercury.
