Filtering and Monitoring
Filtering and monitoring in school
While your child is in school there will be times when they will be using information from the internet. Our school uses appropriate filtering and monitoring systems to help keep children safe online. These systems are designed to reduce the risk of children accessing inappropriate or harmful content, and internet use in school is always supervised by staff. Our filtering and monitoring arrangements are reviewed regularly in line with Department for Education guidance.
Accessing the internet at home
In school, children learn about staying safe online and we encourage you to reinforce these messages at home. If your child has access to the internet at home, please ensure appropriate filters, parental controls and supervision are in place.
Our Online Safety Rules
At Inglehurst Infant School, we encourage children to remember three simple online safety rules:
- Keep information private – never share personal information online without a trusted adult's help.
- Not everything online is safe or true – always think carefully about what you see, hear or read online.
- Tell a grown-up if you feel worried or confused – speak to a trusted adult straight away if something online makes you uncomfortable, upset or unsure.
These are the same key messages that children learn in school and we encourage families to discuss and reinforce them at home.
