Values

Our Vision and Values

Our values are at the core of everything we do. They are the things that we believe are important. They underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which allows our pupils to succeed and thrive.  As a school we have identified four core values:

Kindness

We believe that kindness is the key to a happy and healthy life. Acts of kindness can make the world a happier place for everyone. They can boost feelings of confidence, being in control, happiness and optimism. They may also encourage others to repeat the good deeds they've experienced themselves – contributing to a more positive community.

Respect

Respect is fundamental to nurturing healthy relationships, whether personal or professional. It involves accepting others as they are, even if they differ from you or hold opposing views. Respect means treating others with the same dignity and consideration you wish for yourself, which fosters trust, safety, and well-being in relationships.

Honesty

Honesty is essential for building healthy relationships, both personally and professionally. When we are honest with ourselves, we build trust with ourselves and others. When we are truthful about our thoughts, feelings, and actions, we create a sense of trust that others can rely on. Being honest can sometimes be hard. We might believe that lying will keep us out of trouble. At Inglehurst, we encourage each other to be brave and truthful in these situations so that we can try to put things right and learn from our mistakes.

Determination

Determination increases our chances of being successful in a particular thing or achieving a particular goal. It encourages us to see the bright side of life and gives us motivation to keep trying. There will be times when we find things difficult and we may feel like giving up. This is normal. This is when it is helpful to have a team around you encouraging you to keep going and that is what we do at Inglehurst. We believe that when we have goals and stick by them it helps us to trust our abilities and realise that we can count on ourselves and realise that we are capable to overcome obstacles.
